What is FLIP?

The Family Literacy Involvement Program (FLIP) encourages parents and other caregivers to extend the reading experiences that they share with their children. FLIP is multi-lingual, interactive and developed for children ages birth to 8 years old.
The program includes 201 activity kits based on diverse children's books. Each kit is designed to increase a love of reading and learning through family-centered activities in the home.

What's inside each kit?

Each kit contains at least one book-based public library resource as an anchor element, a guide that helps parents serve as facilitators of the kit, and multiple objects that are used as part of suggested activities.

Can kits be checked out?

Yes, kits can be checked out just as any other library material.
